Shoot Four: Contact Sheet / Best Prints
Shoot Plan:
Hour/Roll Four
Location: Kemptown
Finally, I wanted to focus on a less well known area of Brighton. Kempton has a high street but is mostly a residential area, I thought this would be a great place to capture Brighton's locals.
Contact Sheet:
Overall, I am happy with how this roll came out. I'm very happy that I decided to go into a part of Brighton that was residental and that I had never been to, as I had to be very aware of my surroundings to make sure the photographs were interesting.
Best Prints:
I chose this image as I love the space in the image as well as the two different characters. The bold words really stand out, also because the wall doesn't look like your normal church.
I love the characters pondering face in this image, as well as the woman we can see in the background. It makes us wonder what she is talking about on the phone and what is being read on the sign. The ducks add a lovely detail to the image.
I love the composition of this image. I think its really interesting how the man almost blends into the art in the background. I also like the way the taxi and lamp post are positioned. I feel like this captured the neighbourhood well but in an artistic way.
I love the composition of this image, how the woman is leaning up against the wall. The sign behind her, as well as the textures seen in the image add nice detail. I also love the writing on the black door which can be seen at second glance.
This is one of my favourite images from this roll. The man in his slippers, passing the sport sign adds a comic element to the image. I also love the expression on his face. The dent in the wall, along with the shadow also adds a detail to the photograph.
I love the depth in this image and the different patterns that are clear to see from the wall and also the buildings in the background. The demolition in this image is really detailed, and I'm glad I came across it as it shows a part of Brighton that the tourists wouldn't see. I also like the composition of how the man is straight under the end of the crane.
These two characters are two of my favourite people that I met on this shoot. They told me about how they had always lived in Brighton and let me take a photograph of them. I love the womens fashion and how it has 60s references, with the glasses and hat.
I chose this image as there are a lot of interesting details within it. The bikes in the foreground, as well as the minty graffiti add a lot to the image. I also like how the subjects are in height order. Other details, such as the cigarette in the monkeys mouth as well as the small motorbike symbol at the top, make the photograph stand out.
I loved the character that I got the chance to shoot in this image. He is a security guard and allowed me take take this photograph of him. I shot him through the shop door window to get the back stripe effect. I love how the sun bounces off his face, and how his hair and piercings are shown in this photograph.
This is my final best print of this shoot. I love how at first glance you don't notice the dog on top of the cafe sign.
